Reconnect to the version of you that feels alive.
Therapy for Burnout & Compassion Fatigue in Fullerton, CA
Supporting helping professionals in moving out of survival mode so they can feel grounded, balanced, and connected again.
You always show up for everyone…except yourself.
Maybe you are…
Someone who used to feel creative and passionate, but now just feels stuck on autopilot.
A therapist who feels emotionally numb in sessions and is wondering if you’re cut out for this work anymore.
A nurse who keeps saying yes to extra shifts even when your body is begging for rest.
A first responder who feels like the line between work and home life has completely blurred.
A teacher who spends nights and weekends planning, grading, and worrying, with no time left for yourself.
Constantly exhausted, battling tension headaches or illness, and wondering how long you can keep this up.
Dedicating your life to taking care of others can be rewarding, but it can also leave you feeling like a shell of yourself. You watch the clock at work, counting down until you can go home, only to continue ruminating on the workday once you’re off. In therapy with me, you’ll have space to take a breath and rediscover yourself outside of your professional role.
Showing yourself compassion creates space to be more compassionate toward others—not less.
How I Can Help
Let’s pause, reflect, & rebuild.
When you’re running on empty, therapy gives you the chance to pause and finally pay attention to what’s happening inside you. By slowing down in this way, you can begin to notice the exhaustion, tension, or numbness you’ve been carrying and use that awareness as the foundation for change.
We’ll practice simple mindfulness exercises that allow you to see yourself through a new, more compassionate lens. We’ll acknowledge the resilience that helped you make it to this point, and learn to tap into that resilience when you need it. I’ll help you reconnect to your “active ingredient”—the deeper reason you first chose this work—and bring it back into focus as a source of strength and motivation.
We’ll look together at the beliefs that may be holding you back, like “my work doesn’t make a difference,” and gently challenge them by reflecting on your real success stories. From there, we’ll create practical and creative tools you can lean on—like keeping a collection of these stories and the impact you’ve made.
Above all, these sessions are your refuge from the pressures outside, where we work together to help you build a more balanced, compassionate way of living.
Imagine a life where you…
Feel compassion for yourself as well as others. You can pause, take a break, and celebrate your own wins without guilt.
Notice what’s happening inside your body and know what it means. You feel more tuned in to the signals of stress or exhaustion, instead of being blindsided by them.
Rely on your own inner strength to get through difficult moments. You trust yourself to handle challenges without being swept under by them.
Feel connected to the sense of purpose that brought you to this work. Your role as a helper feels meaningful again, instead of something that drains you.
Have more balance between work and home life. You protect your time and energy, leaving space for the people and activities that make you feel alive.
Advocate for your needs with confidence. You feel empowered to set boundaries and speak up for what helps you thrive.

Frequently asked questions
-
Stress is part of almost any demanding job. Burnout is when the stress doesn’t go away, even with rest. If you find yourself running on autopilot, dreading work, feeling disconnected from loved ones, or wondering how much longer you can keep this up, that’s more than ordinary stress. Burnout often shows up as emotional exhaustion, cynicism, or feeling ineffective in areas where you once felt confident. In therapy, I’ll help you recognize the signs, reconnect with your strengths, and create sustainable ways to move forward.
-
Compassion fatigue is sometimes called “the cost of caring.” It happens when giving so much empathy leaves you feeling emotionally numb, resentful, or unable to connect with the very people you want to help. Burnout, on the other hand, is tied more to work conditions—things like long hours, high demands, or blurred boundaries. Many helping professionals experience both at the same time. In our work together, I’ll help you rebuild compassion for yourself, restore balance, and reconnect with the values that first drew you to this work.
-
Yes. Burnout and compassion fatigue don’t just affect your mind — they live in your body, too. You might notice constant fatigue, tightness in your shoulders or chest, headaches, or even getting sick more often. In therapy, I’ll guide you in noticing how stress shows up in your body and teach you tools to release tension and get more rest. We’ll also create practical strategies to help your daily life feel less overwhelming.

If you’re asking the question, chances are it’s time. You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable before reaching out. If you’re noticing that you’re constantly drained, losing patience with others, or questioning your purpose in your work, therapy can help. Together, we’ll create space for you to rest, reflect, and rebuild so you can feel more like yourself again.
