Therapy for Therapists in Fullerton, CA
Supporting therapists in navigating burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma so they can restore confidence in their abilities and reconnect with their “why.”
You’re trained to hold space…but who’s holding space for you?
Maybe you’ve experienced…
Feeling drained in session, noticing irritability or countertransference intensifying, and finding it harder to problem-solve or generate interventions for your clients.
Questioning your clinical effectiveness despite years of training, supervision, and experience.
Pushing through agency demands and productivity requirements while your own wellbeing is overlooked.
Carrying vicarious trauma home with you and struggling to switch out of “therapist mode.”
Making an error in your work that led to discipline or placed a client’s safety at risk—and carrying guilt about it.
Wondering whether this field is sustainable for you long-term without losing touch with who you are outside the therapy room.
As a clinician, you know the terminology, the models, and the risks of this work—but that doesn’t make you immune to them. Maybe you’ve been feeling misaligned with your values, and ashamed of the ripple effect it’s had on how you show up both in and out of session. In therapy with me, you don’t have to explain the realities of life as a clinician, because I already get it. Here, you can take off your therapist hat and give yourself the grace to just be human.
You deserve compassion, too.
How I Can Help
This is your space to explore, reconnect, & find a sustainable path forward.
I don’t have to tell you how important it is to have a therapeutic space where you’re not performing or holding it together for others—and that’s exactly what this space is for you. Bring your exhaustion, your doubts, your worries, and we can sort through them together.
In our work, we’ll slow down and create a “sensation language” to help you process through the symptoms that often come with burnout, compassion fatigue, or vicarious trauma. Together, we’ll also identify your “active ingredient”—the motivation or value that gets you up in the morning—to use as a guidepost moving forward. Then, we’ll build some resiliency skills to help you tap into your own innate capacity to regulate and recover, so the stress of the work doesn’t define your sense of self.
Therapy with me is collaborative and reflective. I’ll mirror back the insights you share, the strengths you already have, and the discrepancies that might be keeping you stuck. I always invite your feedback about what’s helpful and what’s not, so our approach can be responsive and dynamic to your unique needs. From there, I’ll empower you to identify career and work-life balance goals that are truly in tune with your values and innermost desires. This process allows you to recalibrate how you show up in your clinical work, while also making space to live more fully outside of it.
Trust your clinical instincts again. You feel grounded and steady in the therapy room, instead of second-guessing every choice.
Feel connected to your “why.” You remember the purpose that drew you to this work and feel aligned with it again.
Leave sessions feeling fulfilled instead of depleted. You end your day with enough energy to enjoy your own life outside of work.
Hold compassion for yourself as you hold it for clients. You can extend the same kindness inward that you offer outward every day.
Feel clear in your direction. You move forward in your career with more clarity, instead of feeling stuck or questioning whether you belong in the field.
Restore your sense of creativity in how you show up for clients. You have the space and energy to problem-solve flexibly, instead of feeling blocked by fatigue.
Imagine a life where you…
What We’ll Work On
Give yourself room to be human.
It’s time to show up for yourself like you do your clients.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Burnout usually stems from the demands of the work itself—long hours, agency pressures, or blurred boundaries—and shows up as exhaustion, cynicism, or feeling ineffective. Compassion fatigue happens when giving so much empathy leaves you feeling emotionally drained, numb, or even resentful toward the people you’re helping. Vicarious trauma develops when hearing clients’ stories over and over begins to shift how you see the world and impacts your own sense of safety. In therapy, we’ll sort through what you’re experiencing, put clear language to it, and create a path that helps you feel more grounded and connected to your “why.”
-
Absolutely. Many therapists hit a point where they wonder if the work is sustainable. Together, we can explore what’s underneath those doubts—it may be burnout, pressure from your employer, or feeling disconnected from your purpose. You'll have space to talk honestly about your options without judgment. Therapy can help you clarify your values, reimagine your relationship to the work, and decide what’s right for you moving forward.
-
Not at all—this isn’t clinical consultation. While your work may bring you into therapy, the effects often spill over into every part of life, including your relationships, sleep, physical health, and overall wellbeing. We’ll talk about the full picture, not just what happens in the therapy room. That way, you can begin to feel more whole both inside and outside of work.

Clinicians often come in with more understanding and insight into mental health concepts—but that doesn’t mean you’re immune to burnout, self-doubt, or compassion fatigue. Therapy for therapists acknowledges the unique pressures of our field: productivity standards, countertransference, blurred boundaries, and the weight of client stories. I approach this work as someone who has supervised clinicians for years, so I understand the realities of agency life and private practice. My role is to provide a space where you can step out of the therapist role, be human, and receive the support you give to others.
